Web Design Guide

When thinking about the overall artistic appeal of a web page, then a viewer must consider the elements of web design in that page.  One of those elements is the content.  A person using web design to make a web page can have great color, layout and art that draw the viewer.  But then…they are either inspired or overwhelmed or sent away by the content.   What is content?  It is the written word that is placed into the web page, mostly.  This content has unwritten rules attached to it through years of experimentation with viewers.  So catering the content, or text, to what has already been established as something that works well in your web design is a must.

Some web text no-nos are:  avoid the deadly, wall of text.  Too much text in your web design will lose that potential viewer.  It’s a fact.  Too much text says to the viewer, you have homework.  They will click past your site.  To make your text in your web design more viewer friendly, and not be just a huge block of text, try instead to use sub headers.   Everyone does it they use the sub headers to scan the text.  They use it to direct them to the parts that they want to read.  Sub headers work and are very user-friendly.

Another great text tip to incorporate into the web design for your web page is highlighted keywords.  The reader’s eyes will be drawn to the highlighted keywords and drawn into the text.  Another great text tip to incorporate into your web design for your web page is, keep the text simple.  Simple is better when trying to reach the average viewer.  Also keep the paragraphs small in an effort to avoid the mistake of overwhelming them with too much text.
